unit\slim stands for the working method of two companies that came together through a number of joint projects. The collaboration began with a brief from a major sporting goods manufacturer, which involved designing and manufacturing products that would be unique in terms of both form and function. In 2012, this collaboration continued with work on the unit system furniture range, which was presented in 2015.
The unit project proved to be such a great success because the KINZO product is capable of reflecting a wide variety of office and work situations in its own unique design signature.
Then, in the summer of 2021, on the back of requests made by a customer, the flow of creative and constructive efforts between KINZO and planmöbel began anew and, within a few weeks, a product had been created that both solved and exceeded the customer's requirements. All the desktops are 13 mm thick and feature a characteristic 35 mm corner radius. unit\slim is provided with steel edging to the sides and rear, which serves to support the desktop while also keeping the desk’s technical components out of view. The design behind this edging makes unit\slim truly unique. Both the frame’s rectangular lifting column, which has a 50 x 80 mm cross-section, and the edging are offered in white, black or silver, according to your preference. A version in RAW is also available for quantities of 100 items per order.
The height can be adjusted electrically by means of an intuitive control panel. In the basic version, this is equipped with an up-down function, but subject to an additional charge, this can also be supplied with a display that shows the current height. A memory function, with 3 saved positions for three different users is available as an option. It also connects to an app that offers a range of comfort and ergonomics features.
Upon request, up to three cable sets, consisting of a rounded framework element housing two inserts (d = 80 mm) can be seamlessly integrated into the desktop for the following modules (please refer to the data sheet for positioning): cable access panel, socket module, wireless charger, HDMI slot, USB A 3.0, USB C 3.1, lamp adapter for desk lamp with cable access, adapter for Humanscale monitor swivel arm and cable entry. The cable tray (finished in the frame colour) can be folded in- and outwards, is extra-large in size and - hidden behind the edging - it remains completely invisible.
Melamine decor, veneer, special surfaces, lacquer, metal, fabric - it is not only on the surface of things that the possibilities of designing and combining planmöbel furniture are almost unlimited. Please find below a small selection – further materials upon request.
